Retro ComeCocos – Fantasmas en Peligro de Extincion.

We all know the game Pac-Man and have played it at least once. An arcade game released in 1980 by Namco (Japan), it has since been adapted to many different gaming platforms, and today it can even be played online.

You are Pac-Man in a maze. Your objective is to eat all the dots to advance to the next level.

The problem: four ghosts, commonly known as Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde, will try to catch you. If you encounter a ghost, you lose a life. When you lose four lives, the game ends.

You can also find four power pellets in the corners of the maze. After eating these power pellets, you can eat the ghost that will be fleeing in terror.

Fun Facts

If you are familiar with this game, you know it is an addictive and iconic title. Like all celebrities, it has its followers and even a fan club, but as is often the case, success brings out the haters.

This gave rise to the Anti-Pac-Man Community. There are people who want to experience what it’s like to be a ghost, and they gather in this virtual community. Just like the rebels, the “anti-Pac-Man” players do things a bit differently from the others.

Playing against the heroic Pac-Man and being an evil ghost is also a lot of fun. They exchange tricks to improve their strategies for catching him and surviving his attacks.

The Anti-Pac-Man game uses the opposite strategy. You control the four ghosts, and your goal is to catch Pac-Man before he eats all the dots. Unlike the original game, here a ghost dies permanently when it is eaten. So make sure to protect your ghosts while they are blue.

It may seem easy for four ghosts to take on a single Pac-Man, but those who have played it think otherwise.

“It’s a bit challenging. But once you figure out how to corner Pac with two ghosts tightening the noose and use a third ghost for the finishing blow, it becomes an entertaining game.”

This “anti” game creates a chaotic atmosphere. Now, discussions are arising about Anti Space Invaders, Anti-Breakout (replacing the lost bricks), Anti Tower Defense (where you build units and try to get them past enemy towers), Anti Match Three… People are losing control.

How to Win Playing Retro Pac-Man

Although it seems like the ghosts follow random paths, with time you can observe that they follow a predictable search pattern, but it takes a little while to notice it.

Once you discover the movement patterns, it’s possible to trace precise anti-patterns, allowing you to complete levels without ever getting caught.

Another secret is to anticipate your turns with the joystick, which saves you a fraction of a second that can often be the difference between escaping a ghost’s grasp.

Where to Play Retro Pac-Man

In reality, you don’t need to spend money to enjoy some fun playing Pac-Man.

There are many options that allow you to play during a break at work, while the particle accelerator heats up for the next experiment, or like me, at home when commercials are on television; I play a couple of screens and the ads go by quickly.
